Meet the Author Mr. Smith

Whether speaking at school events, bookstores or pediatrician offices, Mr. Smith, The Read Aloud Guy, is always passionately promoting the practice of playfully reading aloud to children. His video workshop series seeks to help families nurture children's hearts and minds by fostering literacy and empowering children with the skills and confidence to thrive and eventually become passionate, lifelong readers and learners themselves.

After a career in teaching Kindergarten, Mr. Smith is also an author. His children's book, Mr. Smith's Poetry Playground, is a delightful collection of stories not only designed to entertain, but to build confidence and character as you read, share and laugh together. A whimsical delight for the mind and heart!

Mr. Smith lives in Connecticut with his family. He is always on the lookout for new ways to inspire families to read together and for great books to suggest for their nightstands!

Meet the Illustrator Dananja Subasinghe

Ever since she could hold a crayon, Dananja Subasinghe has loved making art. Her passion soon turned to her profession and she now creates her vibrant, artistic magic in a cozy studio in Sri Lanka with her loyal cats, Malli and Nana!

Dananja enjoys yoga and trying out new and delicious recipes and she is passionate about listening to all kinds of music! Her colorful illustrations bring warmth and joy to every page of our books.
